Rising junior, Kohl Crawford, has been selected as a research fellow for the inaugural cohort of the Du Bois Scholars Program at Harvard. The prestigious initiative is aimed at recognizing and supporting exceptional students from Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Crawford is one of 20 scholars selected to participate. He will work alongside Dr. Jerome Offord Jr. on the Legacy of Slavery Memorial initiative, which serves to recognize and honor the enslaved people whose labor facilitated the founding, growth, and evolution of Harvard.

As a Du Bois Scholars Program Fellow, Crawford will be part of the Harvard Summer Undergraduate Research Village (HSURV), which will include a fully in-person nine-week residential experience to augment and enhance the full-time research he will be conducting with his faculty mentor.

Crawford is a political science major from Dallas, Texas. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Inc., the Collegiate 100, and several other campus organizations. He is also the incoming Student Government Association Vice President for External Affairs.
