FITNESS ASSESSMENT SERVICES

 

A medical history form is required and certain individuals will need to get physician’s approval prior

to beginning the service.

 

Basic Fitness Assessment

Cost: Students FREE; Faculty/Staff $10.00; Community $20.00

The Basic Fitness Assessment is our most popular assessment package. Clients are evaluated in six areas to determine their current level of fitness. Each area is compared to national norms to identify the clients’ strengths and to determine areas that may need a little work.

Estimated Length: 60 Minutes

 

Included:

* Evaluation of current fitness level

* Measurement of the effectiveness of a fitness program

* Comprehensive fitness report with results

* Consultation with a qualified fitness professional

 

Tests Included:

* Blood Pressure

*Body Composition

* Cardiovascular endurance (submax treadmill test)

* Muscular endurance (push up & partial curl up tests)

* Muscular strength (grip strength test)

* Flexibility (sit and reach test)

 

Lung Capacity Testing

Cost: Students $5.00; Faculty/Staff $20.00; Community $25.00

Lung capacity testing is a comprehensive testing utilizing the Ultima Cardio machine used to testing

individuals oxygen level when engaging in various exercise induced activities.  Individuals will be tested on 

three types of breathing tests: Force Vital Capacity (FVC), Slow Vital Capacity (SVC), and Maximal

Voluntary Ventilation (MVV) Click here for more information.

Each test emulates the different breathing patterns individuals experience when exercising to

determine how much oxygen one holds within their lungs.  A personal report sheet is generated reflecting 

the results of the average lung capacity based off of ones age, weight, height, and sex.

VO2 MAX TESTING 

Cost: Students: $10.00 Faculty/Staff: $25.00; Community: $30.00

VO2 max is the peak oxygen usage of an athlete at maximum exercise and is measured in milliliters of oxygen.  This metabolic test is an excellent indicator of aerobic fitness. Athletes with higher VO2 max values can tolerate higher exercise intensity and volume than those whose VO2 max values indicate lower levels of conditioning. Athletes with higher VO2 can also recover from an aerobic work more efficiently. VO2 max can be increased by workout intensities at specific sub-max VO2 percentages.

* VO2 Max Testing (Bicycle or Treadmill)

 

ALTER G TREADMILL TRAINING

Anti gravity treadmill used for rehabilitation or for individuals with joint issues related to genetics,

obesity, or athletics within the lower extremities.  The Alter G is an innovative treadmill that has the

ability to take as much as 20% of ones body weight off therefore relieving stress from the affected

joint.  In turn causing individuals to workout longer and pain free resulting in a faster turn around time for

rehabilitating athletes to return back to play and the loss of weight for obese clients.  The Alter G is also

good training device for those wanting to increase their cardiovascular stamina and lung capacity when

wanting to run in a 5K or 10K race.  What ever your fitness goal is the Alter G Treadmill can assist.
