General Manager of Houston Airport System’s William P. Hobby Airport

Houston, Texas by way of Chicago, Illinois

Degree from TSU:
Bachelor of Science degree in Airway Science-Management.

What he does:
Miller oversees the daily operations of the facility and the development and implementation of policies and procedures. He also coordinates the preparation, implementation and monitoring of the budget and expenditures for Hobby Airport.

How he got his start:
Miller joined HAS in 1991 as a management intern and quickly climbed the ranks of the airport system. His first promotion was in 1993 to management analyst and since then has held various positions at George Bush Intercontinental

Airport (IAH), including senior superintendent, assistant superintendent, senior airport properties representative, airport supervisor, airport business development coordinator and airport manager of Ellington Airport (EFD). Prior to his current position, Miller served as both acting senior airport manager and assistant director of maintenance at Bush Intercontinental Airport. He commanded a team of hundreds that anticipated the needs of passengers, pilots, flight attendants, visitors and personnel associated with the 19 domestic and international air carriers that operate from IAH.

“As someone who was instrumental in chartering the COST TSUNAA Chapter, I feel that alumni must give back. Everyone has been helped by someone else. If we don’t help our own students, then who will? Alumni should consider what kind of role models they are willing to be and lead by example. As TSU alumni, we can help mold future generations.”
