Payment Options

FINANCIAL AID DEFERMENT:
  • Eligible Applicants: Eligible Financial Aid Recipients
  • Short Description: The total financial aid that may be disbursed to your account must meet or exceed total charges for tuition and fees. Additionally, you must register in 6 or more hours and meet the minimum satisfactory academic progress standards. All aid must have an accepted or declined status prior to proceeding to the financial aid deferment.
  • Service Area: Office of Student Financial Assistance.
Process:
  1. Open your Internet Browser
  2. Enter "https://portal.tsu.edu" to access the TSU web portal
  3. Type Your "TSU ID Number"
  4. Type your TSU Password: For assistance with passwords, contact TSU HELP Desk at 713-313-4357
  5. Locate Financial Aid
  6. Select Aid Year "1718"
  7. Complete Financial Aid Deferment
Service Option: On-Line
SHORT-TERM LOANS:
  • Eligible Applicants: All-Students
  • Short Description: Defer the payment of your tuition and fees for 90 days after start of the term. Student cannot have a past due balance.
  • Service Area: Student Accounting and Billing.
  • Service Option: On-Line

INSTALLMENT PLAN:
  • Eligible Applicants: All-Students
  • Short Description: Incremental payments with an initial payment equaling 25% of total tuition and fees, due at the initiation of the payment plan.
  • Service Area: Student Accounting and Billing.
  • Service Option: On-Line

CREDIT, DEBIT OR CHECK PAYMENTS:
  • Eligible Applicants: All Students
  • Short Description: Payments through credit and debit cards. Electronic check payments require the bank routing number and personal checking account number.

Acceptable Forms of Payment

FINANCIAL AID AWARDS:
Log into your MyWeb account to Accept, Reduce or Decline your financial aid award package. Complete the financial aid deferment to postpone the payment of tuition and fees until the initial disbursement date. Initial Disbursements will occur no earlier than 10 days prior to the start of the term. First-time freshmen have a mandatory 30-day delay prior to the disbursement of their Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Loans. Aid will be disbursed to the student’s account on Monday, and Thursday of each week.
  • Eligible Applicants: Eligibility may vary by program
  • Short Description: Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), meet minimum satisfactory academic progress requirements, enrolled in 6 or more credit hours.

Review Your Awards and Process Financial Aid Deferment:
  1. Open your Internet Browser

  3. Type Your "TSU ID Number"

  5. Locate Financial Aid
  6. Click "My Award"
  7. Select Aid Year "1718"
  8. Review Information under "Accept Award Offer" tab
  9. Accept, Reduce or Decline Aid
  10. Complete Financial Aid Deferment

EXTERNAL SCHOLARSHIPS:
  • Eligible Applicants: All-Students
  • Short Description: Checks should be submitted to Student Accounting and Billing for processing. Scholarships received may result in adjustments to the financial aid award package.

EMPLOYEE REIMBURSEMENTS PROGRAM:
  • Eligible Applicants: All-Students
  • Short Description: Student must submit financial letter of guarantee to Student Accounting.
  • Service Area: Student Accounting and Billing.
  • Service Option: On-Line

HAZELWOOD BENEFITS:
  • Eligible Applicants: Eligible Veterans and Spouse or Dependents
  • Short Description: Hazelwood Application on-line.
  • Service Area: Veteran's Benefits Office.
  • Service Option: On-Line

VA EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS:
  • Eligible Applicants: Eligible Veterans
  • Short Description: Additional Programs 33, 35 Coordinated through VA Office. Please refer to the information on the VA Benefits pages for extensive information.
  • Service Area: Veteran's Benefits Office.
  • Service Option: E.O. Bell Building ;VA Benefits

UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS:
  • Eligible Applicants: New, Returning and Transfer Students
  • Short Description: Generally, students with 3.0 or higher GPA.
  • Service Area: Recreation Center, RM 220.
  • Service Option: On-Line

TUITION EXEMPTION PROGRAMS:
Students must present an official copy of the notification letter received from the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to the Office of Student Financial Assistance
  • Eligible Applicants: All-Students
  • Short Description: State Tuition Exemptions for Foster Care, Blind & Deaf.
  • Service Area: Office of Student Financial Assistance.
