the reference desk with a question after 5 pm, you will most likely be speaking with
a student worker and not a librarian. However, Reference questions after hours can
be emailed to AskaLibrarian@TSU.edu.
If you are having trouble locating materials on a topic, or need assistance accessing electronic resources, please call us at 713-313-7402 or send an email to the Reference Department. We will return your email within one business day (but probably sooner).
The Reference Collection covers all disciplines offered in university instructional programs. The collection includes many general reference and specialized publications in print, but encompasses many more up-to-date reference titles in electronic format. Also housed in the reference area are "high demand" items (may vary from semester to semester) such as: professional test prep study guides, Norton anthologies, and MLA style manuals. These may be "checked out" for in library use for up to two hours at a time.
Bibliographic instruction classes are usually taught by Reference Librarians. Faculty members are encouraged to schedule bibliographic instruction for their classes. The purpose of these sessions is to demonstrate specific library print and electronic resources to support a particular instructional program. Also, faculty members may schedule a bibliographic instruction class for themselves or their department.
To schedule a bibliographic instruction session, call the Reference/Information Desk at (713) 313-7402 or email us.
