Professional Biography

Gabrielle Floyd is a Visiting Instructor in the Department of Health and Kinesiology, and Sport Studies within the College of Education, at Texas Southern University. Mrs. Floyd earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Affairs and holds a Master of Health Studies degree from Texas Southern University.

Mrs. Floyd teaches courses in Introduction of Health, History and Principles of Health, Problems in Community Hygiene, Drugs and Health, and Management in Rec Sport and Leisure. She has also taught courses in Racquetball and Advanced Gymnastics and serves as an Advisor. She currently serves as Chairperson of the Textbook Committee, and works on several additional committees such as Community Service, Faculty/Student Grievance for the department and COE, recruitment for COE and Volleyball, Graduation Celebration, COE Gala, etc.

Mrs. Floyd is also recognized as Coach Floyd. Since her 2002 graduation she has been an Assistant Volleyball Coach at Texas Southern University. She was a proud student-athlete and is a proud Alumna of Texas Southern. She gives back to the community through several community service projects throughout the year.
