Project GAP (Girls Achieving Power)

Project GAP (Girls Achieving Power) will empower 20 sixth-grade girls by using a whole-child approach to learning and overcoming impediments to achievement by providing academic and cultural enrichment, mentoring, and parental involvement. Activities include mentoring, tutoring, counseling, life skills training, field trips, and parental involvement. The aim of Project GAP is to bridge the divide between girls and the barriers that may prevent them from achieving their full potential. The program will be led by Dr. Dominique Guinn and Dr. Angela Meshack, Department of Health, Kinesiology, and Sport Studies.
