Annual Security & Fire Report
The Clery Act is a consumer protection law that aims to provide transparency around campus crime policy and statistics. Our Annual Security and Fire Report embodies this commitment by providing comprehensive insights into campus crime statistics from the past three years and detailed safety procedures. This report is required to provide crime statistics for the prior three (3) years, policy statements regarding various safety and security measures, campus crime prevention program descriptions, and procedures to be followed in the investigation and prosecution of alleged sex offenses.
TSU’s Department of Public Safety as a whole is required to produce an annual Clery Act report. This report is commonly called the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report.

Registered Sex Offenders
Below is a list of registered sex offenders enrolled or employed with Texas Southern University, in compliance with the Campus Sex Crimes Prevention Act of 2000. Any use of this information to threaten, intimidate, harass, or create a criminal act against another person will result in criminal prosecution.

Timely Warnings
Timely warnings are notifications issued at the discretion of the TSU Department of Public Safety to alert the campus community about Clery Act crimes that have occurred and pose a serious or ongoing threat to students and employees. The purpose of these warnings is to enable individuals to protect themselves and prevent similar crimes.
Purpose
The primary goal is to provide information that will aid in the prevention of similar crimes and promote safety and security on campus.
When Issued
Timely warnings are issued for Clery Act crimes that:
- Occur within the institution's Clery geography (on campus, on public property within or immediately adjacent to the campus, and in or on non-campus buildings or property that the institution owns or controls).
- Are reported to campus security authorities or local police agencies.
- Are considered by the institution to represent a serious or continuing threat to students and employees.
Content
A timely warning should include enough information to aid in the prevention of similar occurrences. This may include:
- The nature of the crime.
- Date, time, and location of the incident.
- Description of the suspect, if available.
- Information on what actions to take to prevent harm or to protect oneself.
- Any other relevant information that could help individuals stay safe.
Distribution
Institutions can disseminate timely warnings through various means, including:
- Text messages
- Emails
- Campus bulletins
- Social media
- University websites
- Other methods deemed effective by the institution
Compliance
Providing timely warnings is a requirement under the Clery Act.
