THE CENTER FOR AFRICANA FUTURES

The work of the Center for Africana Futures is specifically concerned with how Black folk envision and produce a digital Black future where we are central to and vital in all aspects of global life, not only as consumers or digital products but as owners and creators. We realize these goals through regranting to Texas Southern University faculty to support teaching, research, and creative projects focused on Black Digital Humanities and Black Digital Futures, as well as pedagogy and curriculum designed to introduce students at all levels to the ideas, theories, and methods that build big data, AI, the metaverse and technological futures assessments so that they can lead in careers, policy making, and activist pathways.
