WINSLOW A. JEFFRIES has more than 20 years of experience in education, marketing, project management, design, engineering and production of audiovisual and theater systems.
His main mission is to share his experiences and craft skills with Texas Southern University students to help them enhance whatever path they choose during and after college. He holds a bachelor’s degree in pre-law from Southern Illinois University and a master of arts degree from the University of Illinois.
Mr. Jeffries has been teaching in the Magnet School of Communication at Yates High School for four years. Prior to Yates he taught at Northwestern University, Texas Southern, Columbia College and Houston Community College. He also taught dual credit classes at Challenge Early College High School. Some of his professional experience includes working at Black Entertainment Television, HBO, ABC radio, WVON/WGCI Radio, Chicago Cable Television. He was project manager for the installation of the sound system for Chicago International Terminal the control room for the Chicago Transit Authority and the audiovisual systems for the Harold Washington Library.
When time permits he works in the communication industry as an audio-video journeyman in the International Alliance of Theater Stage Employees – Local 51, which provides audiovisual and staging production services to the major entertainment venues in Houston: Hobby Theater, Jones Hall, Wortham Theater, Hilton Hotel and the George R. Brown Convention Center.
