What Is The Tiger 1 Card?

The Tiger 1 Card is the official Texas Southern University (TSU) identification card for all students, faculty, staff, contractors, and visitors. The card is required identification for all active members of the TSU community. The card comes with multi-functionalities and serves as a meal plan card; debit card for meals, vending, copier, and bookstore purchases; access card to buildings and parking gates, and other campus card services.

The Tiger 1 Card Office is located in Room 232, Sterling Student Center.  The Office hours are 8:00am until 5:00pm, Monday through Friday. All students are required to be registered and enrolled in classes before a Tiger 1 Card is issued. New faculty and staff must be assigned a University identification T-Number, and present a copy of their Personnel Action Form before the card is issued.  State photo identification is required.

Where Can I Use My Tiger 1 Card?

The Tiger 1 Card can be used for purchases in the Barnes & Nobles Campus Bookstore, all campus dining facilities, various vending machines and copiers located in the Sterling Student Center, Campus Recreation Center, access to certain buildings and parking gates, and some computer labs. Plans are to expand card services throughout the entire campus community in the near future.

There is a $300 minimum deposit per semester for this plan.

A Tiger Bucks account is automatically assigned with zero dollars to all cardholders when the Tiger 1 Card is issued.  A deposit for any amount is required to activate the debit card functionalities of the card.  Cash, check, debit and credit card deposits are accepted at the Bursar’s Office, located in the basement of the Bell Building.
