The Honorable Kohl E. Crawford (Garland, Texas)

Student Regent Kohl Crawford was appointed to the Texas Southern University (TSU) Board of Regents by Texas Governor Greg Abbott in June of 2025.

Kohl E. Crawford is a senior Political Science major and Thomas F. Freeman Honors Scholar at Texas Southern University, serving as the 2025–2026 Student Regent on the TSU Board of Regents. Appointed by Governor Greg Abbott, Kohl represents the stu-dent body and participates in high-level university governance. He maintains a strong academic record with a 3.82 GPA and focuses his studies on political theory, constitu-tional law, and public policy.

Kohl has gained valuable experience through research and internships, including a fel-lowship at Harvard University and studies in international relations at Oxford Universi-ty. His legal internships with respected law firms and university programs have strengthened his understanding of the legal system and public policy.

Currently, Kohl serves as Junior Vice Polemarch for the Southwestern Province of Kap-pa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., supporting leadership development and service initiatives across multiple chapters. He has also served as Polemarch of the Beta Upsilon Chapter and as External Affairs Vice President for the Student Government Association, where he led important civic engagement and student outreach efforts.

Kohl is honored to be recognized as a Strada Scholar and serves as an Andrew Goodman Foundation Ambassador. He previously contributed to campus life as a Resident Assis-tant and Red Cross Campus Ambassador. Kohl is committed to thoughtful leadership, responsible governance, and fostering opportunities that benefit the university commu-nity.
