Texas Southern University College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences faculty and research scientists are conducting research in several areas including atherosclerosis, cancer, hypertension, diabetes, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, drug delivery, pharmacokinetics, glaucoma, and comparative effectiveness. The COPHS emphasizes a community-based approach to research working alongside community partners to collaborate on projects to address the needs of the community. The research programs in the College are anchored by federal, state, and private funding and all have one common theme, the elimination of health disparities.
