The Jesse H. Jones School of Business is pleased to present a tremendous opportunity for student academic improvement, in partnership with Baxter Trust. The Baxter Trust Academic Improvement Scholarship Program is designed to encourage progression among full-time business majors, strengthen the academic resolve of promising students, reward significant improvement in academics, and ensure that all JHJ School students realize their full potential in the achievement of their educational and career goals. Two scholarship awards are possible during the term of the program – first award in the fall 2021 semester and second award in the spring 2022 semester if academic milestones are achieved. Scholarships awards are available in the amount of $500, $750, and $900.
Term of the Program: fall 2020 thru spring 2022
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria:
- Undergraduate students in good academic standing majoring in accounting, finance, management, management information systems, or marketing
- Enrolled full-time with an overall GPA of 2.00 – 2.99 at the close of the fall 2020 semester with no grades of “I” or “W”; must not be a transfer student
- Attempted and earned at least 12 semester hours at the close of the fall 2020 semester
- U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or DREAMER with proof thereof
- Have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or filed the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA) with the Office of Financial Aid as required by the University
Participation: Students must meet ALL eligibility requirements to be considered for participation in the program. No application is required. Recipients will be notified by the Dean’s Office during the semester(s) of award.

Scholarship Information:
The Jesse H. Jones School of Business is pleased to announce the Jay Shalé Frame the Future Scholarship opportunity for undergraduate students majoring in business. Jay Shalé is proud to offer a financial award to a junior or senior for the Spring 2022 Semester to further their education. Student-athletes are encouraged to apply and must not be on full scholarship. One ( 1) $2,500 scholarship award will be distributed to the recipient’s TSU student account for the Spring 2022 Semester. Students may re-apply each semester.
About Jay Shalé:
As a Jesse H. Jones School of Business (JHJ School) alum, Jay Shalé places great importance on giving back and established the scholarship as a way to pay it forward and give back to the school that has given so much to her. Jay Shalé attributes her success to the leadership and guidance of JHJ School faculty and staff and extends a heartfelt thanks to those who helped mold her into the person she is today.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Must be an undergraduate student enrolled full-time (minimum of 12 semester credit hours);
- Must be a junior or senior in good standing (including transfer credits);
- Must have achieved a minimum overall grade point average of 3.00 or better; and
- Must have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA-U.S. Citizens) or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA-Non-U.S. Citizens/Texas residents) on file with the Office of Financial Aid, as required of all scholarship recipients by the University.

- Demonstrated coursework – Official transcript from all colleges/universities attended (transcripts must be in a sealed envelope or transmitted electronically from the registrar).
- Short essay (500 words, double-spaced) Describe your educational and career goals and how the Jay Shal Frame the Future Scholarship will help you to achieve your goals.
- One letter of recommendation from a current or recent professor, student affairs staff, or employ
- Professional Resume’

Jesse H. Jones (JHJ) School of Business undergraduate scholarships are awarded to full-time students who show exceptional academic ability and exemplify good citizenship as engaged members of the community. Scholarship recipients must meet all university requirements for regular admission for the fall semester and must complete a FAFSA (U.S. Citizens) or TASFA (International). JHJ School of Business Scholarships are NOT eligible for tuition waivers. Annual scholarship awards are eligible for renewal, but is contingent upon compliance with all eligibility criteria and the availability of funds.

Scholarship Information:
The Jesse H. Jones School of Business is pleased to present the prestigious and highly competitive Kase and Eileen Lawal Endowed Scholarship opportunity to business students with an interest in international business and global trade. The scholarship is matched by the President’s Leadership Scholarship (PLS), allowing scholarship recipients to receive a $2,500 Lawal award, in addition to a $1,000 PLS award. Scholarship awards will be distributed to recipients’ TSU student accounts in the spring semester. The scholarship is renewable.

Scholarship Information:
Thurgood Marshall College Fund offers unique merit and need-based scholarships that are designed to address the financial needs of students attending a TMCF member-school or other accredited college or university (if applicable). The awards process is highly competitive and is given to outstanding and qualified students who plan to earn a baccalaureate, graduate or law degree. The average award is $3,100 per student per semester. Most scholarships are one year, non-renewable unless otherwise indicated. Awards are given without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sex, disability, or national origin.

Questions regarding these scholarships should be directed to info@tmcf.org.The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and varying partners are proud to offer COVID-19 emergency financial assistance to students attending one of TMCF’s 47 publicly-supported Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) or Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs). Students selected will receive an emergency award of up to $1,000 for the 2021-2022 academic school year. Funding is intended to allow students to meet their needs and continue their education. Funding is available until the funds are exhausted or until the end of the summer term 2022, whichever comes first.
TMCF will only consider requests to cover expenses in five areas:
- IT/Technology Needs
- For example, laptop, Wi-Fi hotspot, access codes for e-books
- Housing/Rent Needs
- For example, mortgage, rent, utility bills
- Food Insecurity Needs
- For example, groceries
- Transportation/Travel Needs
- For example, gas, car repairs, train/bus/plane tickets, moving support

Overview
The Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF) and Sallie Mae Fund are proud to offer financial assistance to outstanding students attending an accredited post-secondary institutionopens in a new window or continuous education program.
Two hundred and fifty (250) students completing a two-year, four-year, or trade/vocational certificate/certification program will be selected to receive a gap scholarship up to $2,500 for the 2021 – 2022 academic school year.
Selected students must be in good academic standing, but at risk of not returning to or graduating/ completing due to an outstanding financial need, and/or emergency situation that leads to a financial aid crisis.

Patsy Takemoto was the first woman of color in Congress and driving force behind Title IX, the landmark legislation that mandated gender equity in education. The Patsy Takemoto Mink Education Foundation offers Education Support Awards to assist low-income women with children who are pursuing undergraduate or graduate education or training (first bachelor’s degree or professional/masters/doctoral degree). Awardees will be selected based on 1) financial need; 2) personal circumstance; 3) educational path; 4) vocational or occupational goals; and 5) service or activist or civic goals.

Live Your Dream Education and Training Awards for Women
The Zootomist Live Your Dream Awards assist women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. Each year, more than $2.1 million in education grants are awarded to nearly 1,500 women, many of whom have overcome enormous obstacles including poverty, domestic violence and/or drug and alcohol abuse. Live Your Dream Awards recipients may use the cash award to offset any costs associated with their efforts to attain higher education, such as books, childcare, tuition and transportation. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in, or have been accepted to, a vocational/skills training program or an undergraduate degree program and must demonstrate financial need. Local-level award recipients become eligible for region-level awards of either $3,000 or $5,000. Region-level award recipients then become eligible to receive one of three international-level awards of $10,000.
