The "Tiger Fast-Track" Process

1. Consult: Meet with your high school counselor to ensure Dual Enrollment fits your graduation plan.


2. Apply:
Submit your TSU Dual Enrollment application via ApplyTexas.


3. Qualify:
Ensure your TSI scores or exemptions are on file with TSU Admissions.


4. Enroll:
Select your courses with your high school counselor and officially become a part of the Tiger family.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the Texas Southern University Dual Enrollment program, students must:

Grade Level: Be currently enrolled in grades 9-12.
Authorization: Obtain approval from a high school counselor or administrator, as well as a parent or legal guardian.
Academic Standing: Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on their high school transcript (Note: Specific partner school districts may require a higher threshold).
College Readiness: Demonstrate readiness in Reading, Writing, and/or Mathematics as required by the Texas Success Initiative (TSI), unless a qualifying exemption (SAT/ACT/STAAR) is provided.
Health & Safety: Provide proof of a current Bacterial Meningitis vaccination or booster if attending any in-person classes on the TSU campus. Students will not be registered for on-campus courses until this documentation is verified. (This requirement is waived for students enrolled exclusively in 100% online courses).

 

 Texas Public/Private High School Students

  TSU partners with school districts to offer courses that mirror the rigor and excellence of our traditional freshman experience.

Texas Homeschool Students

Homeschool students can experience the prestigious TSU academic environment, taking the same courses from the same world-class faculty as our full-time students.

Out-of-State Students

High-achieving students from outside of Texas can build their college transcripts early through TSU’s premier online course offerings. Enjoy the instructional rigor of a top-tier HBCU from anywhere in the country.

Future Tigers Aviation (Pilot/Drone) & Maritime

Specific pathways exist for students interested in STEM. These tracks may involve hands-on lab experiences on the Texas Southern University’s campus

 

Note on Learning Accommodations


Texas Southern University is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment. Please note that high school 504 plans or IEPs do not automatically transfer to the University. To receive accommodations for Dual Enrollment courses, students must register with the TSU Office of Disability Services.
