TSU Cares GEER Emergency Grant Application
The TSU Cares GEER Emergency Grant is designed to support currently enrolled undergraduate students with financial need, helping them continue their education without interruption. These grants are specifically for students whose families have been financially impacted by the coronavirus pandemic, resulting in unexpected hardships in covering educational expenses. The number of grants awarded will depend on the number of applicants, their demonstrated financial need (as shown by the FAFSA), and the availability of funds. Please note, this grant is available for the FALL SEMESTER ONLY.
Eligibility Requirements
Eligible students must:
- Be an undergraduate student.
- Be enrolled for Fall 2020.
- Have graduated from high school between September 1, 2019 and August 31, 2020 or been enrolled in coursework at an eligible institution during the 2019-2020 academic year.
- Have been negatively affected financially by COVID-19.
- Be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen (i.e., eligible to receive federal Title IV aid).
- Be classified by the university as a Texas resident.
- Have filed a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
- Have financial need and be eligible for federal Title IV aid (e.g., Pell Grant, work study, student loans, etc.).
Application Process
- Download the application from the Financial aid and Scholarship page under the forms tab.
- Complete the GEER emergency fund application and email it to facustomer@tsu.edu.
- Applications will be processed as received.
