The Earl Carl Institute for Legal and Social Policy, Inc. (the “Earl Carl Institute”) is excited to announce the much-anticipated Marcia Johnson Change Agent Awards (MJCAA) Reception on Thursday, April 10, 2025, beginning at 5:30 p.m. at the culturally captivating Texas Southern University Museum, located at 3100 Cleburne Street in Third Ward Houston. Named after Professor Marcia Johnson, the founder of the Earl Carl Institute, the MJCAA was established to recognize and promote a broad spectrum of public service that places a voice at the decision-making table and advocates for the interest of disenfranchised communities. The award recognizes those individuals and organizations who serve without glory and make an impactful difference in improving the lives of others—essentially, the kind of work the Earl Carl Institute aspires to do daily. This year’s MJCAA theme, “Out of One Change for Many”, will recognize legal innovators who have created change in the legal system to benefit many. A tour of the newly renovated Earl Carl Institute building on the Texas Southern University Campus will immediately follow reception.
