In this space we are committed to your success of your from entry, to exit and beyond. Our role is to provide guidance, service and support from admissions through graduation. The Dean of Students Responsibility and University Standards sets the bar and establishes the expectations for all students. MEET THE DEAN

Dr. Tiyahri Wilson the Dean of Student Responsibility and University Standards providing direct leadership for undergraduate and graduate programs.

Dr. Wilson graduated with undergraduate degrees in Human Services (AA), Child & Family Studies (BS), and graduate degrees in Psychology (MS) and Clinical Psychology (Ph.D.). Dr. Wilson has amassed an outstanding career spanning 20 years, as a seasoned administrator, researcher, mental health clinician, and community leader that influences holistic development and empowerment for student success. Such experience includes judicial affairs, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging advocacy, as a licensed mental health practitioner, and restorative justice strategies.

Dr. Wilson has served as an administrator leading career services, admissions and enrollment, retention, risk management, crisis intervention, and prevention as well as roles as Director and Investigator of Title IX & Civil Rights. As a Psychologist, Dr. Wilson has served as a community-based provider; group therapist and continues to be a mental health advocate and private practice provider with specializations in grief, trauma, and identity. Dr. Wilson incorporates a holistic approach to service that is solution-focused and person-centered to educate, equip, and empower those seeking to increase wellness. Dr. Wilson’s scholarship addresses the theory and impact of mental health privations in underserved communities. She integrates her expertise and experiences to guide and support student growth to strengthen resiliency, ownership, and self-efficacy throughout their educational experience from entry to exit, and beyond. 

Dr. Wilson’s motto, is "it still takes a village." This belief drives her commitment to supporting the growth and development of students by working collaboratively with various stakeholders. With her expertise and practice of clinical supervision, advocacy in mental health public policy, and legal, ethical, and regulatory issues related to wellness. Dr. Wilson’s combined experience, knowledge, and passion for student success make her an ideal fit during this refreshing era of innovation, transformation, and disruption at Texas Southern University.
