Regent Paloma Z. Ahmadi was appointed to the Texas Southern University (TSU) Board of Regents by Texas Governor Greg Abbott with her term set to expire on February 1, 2032.
Regent Ahmadi is the General Counsel of Athena, a tech-driven executive assistants' firm, and an advisor to WorkWhile, an AI-powered flex labor platform. Prior to joining Athena, she built and led the legal, trust and safety, human resources, recruiting, and customer support teams at WorkWhile. She has extensive experience counseling boards of directors and senior leaders on labor and employment matters, including previous senior legal roles at Brex Inc., Haynes and Boone LLP, and Major League Baseball, as well as additional experience at Ahmad Zavitsanos Anaipakos and Kirkland & Ellis LLP.
Regent Ahmadi is a current member of the Texas and New York State Bars and an inactive member of the Washington, D.C. Bar. She also serves as a member of the Texas Workforce Investment Council and is a former board member of Dress for Success San Antonio. Regent Ahmadi received a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard College and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School.
