Biographical Information

Jenifer Points began her legal career in litigation at Fulbright & Jaworski in Houston. She handled a wide range of cases and gained second-chair and first-chair trial experience. After about five years of defense work, she switched firms and assisted with plaintiff’s litigation for another five years. From there, she moved into the judiciary as a senior staff attorney at the First Court of Appeals in Houston, working on civil and criminal appellate matters. She has had significant involvement in over 200 appeals assigned to Justice Harvey Brown and, later, Justice Sarah Beth Landau.

Jenifer is board certified in civil appellate law and a member of the Texas Bar College.

Jenifer began her legal teaching career in 2020, teaching Appellate Litigation at Thurgood Marshall as an adjunct professor. She joined the law school as an assistant professor of law in 2022.
