Where is the Testing Center located?

I am an out-of-town/first-time freshman/transfer/new student: Do I have to make a special trip to TSU, in order to take the placement test?

No, you do not have to make a special trip to take the placement test. There may be options in your home state that will allow TSU testing service access. Please contact the TSU- University Testing Center for more details at 713-313-6838. An official score report should be forwarded to the TSU-Undergraduate Office of Admissions at admissions@tsu.edu once testing has been completed.

Is the iBT THEA exam given at TSU?

Are CLEP exams offered at TSU?

Yes. CLEP is now computerized and administered by appointment only. Before you can make an appointment to take a CLEP Test, you must have a Voucher Number which will be provided to you by CLEP once you have completed your online payment for the CLEP Examination at: http://clep.collegeboard.org/. Then you must contact the University Testing Center in advance to make an appointment for your CLEP Test by telephone at (713) 313-6838 or email at testing@tsu.edu

Can I take the CLEP exam, even though I am not a TSU student?

Yes, we service the Houston community and surrounding areas. You are not required to be a TSU student to schedule your CLEP exam at the TSU-University Testing Center. Please make sure to register in advance by contacting the UTC at 713.313.6838 and/or via email: testing@tsu.edu. The Testing Fee for CLEP exams at the UTC is $40.00 for all Non-TSU students.

The University Learning Center is a single-story brick building located on the corner of Rosewood & Canfield streets; Building #200 on the Campus Map: http://www.tsu.edu/about/campus/directions.

Parking Information:

Please park at the East Side Parking Garage located on the corner of Tierwester & Cleburne streets.

Do not park in the TSU student parkin lot (unless you have a current TSU parking permit) or on the church parking lot across from our building. Your vehicle will be towed at the owner's expense.

Walking from the East Side Parking Garage: Walk south on Sampson street (Jack Yates High School sits on the corner) toward the university to Wheeler Ave turn left. Take Wheeler Ave. to Attucks street turn right. Take Attucks street to Rosewood street turn left.
