Texas Southern University Admissions & Band Information

Prospective students need a minimum GPA of 2.5 and either a 17 ACT score or 820 SAT Reading/Math score for admission to Texas Southern University (TSU). The $42 application fee is payable to the TSU Office of Admissions. Those interested in band scholarships should audition early, as funding is limited. The Ocean of Soul Marching Band can perform at events upon request, and donations are welcome to support the program. Students who need alternative admission options can inquire about TSU’s summer program. Housing applications require acceptance into TSU.

I will be staying on campus, do I need to apply for Housing?

Yes, all new TSU students that plan to stay on campus will need to apply for housing. Please click here the housing website to begin the online housing application process. You must pay a Housing Deposit when submitting an application. You must have been accepted into TSU in order to apply for housing for the Fall Semester (Your student number ((T#)) is required/needed during the online application process).
