Raijanel S. Crockem, Ed.D

Senior Associate Vice President 

Raijanel S. Crockem, Ed.D. originally joined the, then named, Institutional Research Office over 25 years ago! She currently serves as the Sr. Associate Vice President for the Office of University Planning & Analytics at Texas Southern University. This role conceptualizes and conducts studies on various student success outcomes, national higher education profiles and workforce market positioning, enrollment trends and projections, as well as employee and finance data. She is actively involved in several university-wide initiatives, such as strategic planning, assessment/institutional effectiveness modeling, Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP) implementation and evaluation, program reviews, business intelligence platform implementation, budgetary planning, and annual reporting to federal and state entities.

She is also Co-Chair of the University Assessment Council and serves on various university-wide committees. She has been a significant role-player in supporting the Texas Southern’s successful reaffirmation by SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) through the development of institutional multi-disciplinary teams and the implementation of a systematic approach to business processes and student success.

Raijanel graduated from Xavier University of Louisiana with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. She also holds a M.A. in Psychology and completed her Ed.D. studies in Educational Administration at Texas Southern University.

Naomi Lawrence-Lee, Ed.D

Executive Director of Data Analytics

Naomi Lawrence-Lee, Ed.D. joined the Office of University Planning & Analytics in 2018. She leads university-wide efforts to promote student success through data-driven strategy, research, and technology integration. In this role she manages the T-CLAW (Tigers Collaboratively Learning and Actively Working) Navigate student success platform. In this role she oversees platform performance, content development, and reporting capabilities to support persistence, degree completion, and coordinated care for students. She actively works with academic and administrative units to embed data-informed decision-making into institutional planning and supports campus initiatives such as the Quality Enhancement Plan. She also supports executive leadership by delivering data insights and performance dashboards informing strategic priorities. With a strong foundation in both education and business, she brings a unique lens to institutional planning, assessment, and organizational effectiveness to the team.

Naomi holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Dillard University and earned her Doctor of Education in Ethical Leadership from the University of St. Thomas in Houston, TX.  She is also a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Gloria Davis, B.S.

Database Administrator

Gloria Davis joined the Office of University Planning & Analytics in March 2019. Her diverse skills as the Database Administrator support compliance, institutional planning, and decision-making at the university. She is responsible for the collection, analysis, and accurate reporting of data to federal, state, and national entities.

Gloria also supports departmental functions such as completing data requests, creating and maintaining data visualizations, promoting data literacy by creating informational resources and training faculty and staff on the use of enterprise-wide tools, such as Argos (data reporting platform) and Xitracs (assessment platform). She also serves as the department’s liaison in coordinating with the Office of Information Technology to promote and develop customized reporting resources and maintain the department’s infrastructure stability.

Gloria earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff.

Cynthia Goudeau, Ph.D

Director of Assessment

Dr. Cynthia Goudeau serves as the Director of Assessment within University Planning & Analytics at Texas Southern University, where she leads institution-wide assessment initiatives designed to enhance student learning, institutional effectiveness, and strategic decision-making. In this role, she partners with academic, administrative, and support units to guide the development, implementation, and evaluation of assessment practices that align with the university’s mission and goals.

With two decades of experience in higher education, Cynthia brings a distinguished record of leadership and expertise in both academic and co-curricular assessment. Her career includes more than ten years as a faculty member, where she gained deep insight into assessment from the classroom perspective. She is known for her strategic approach to building assessment capacity, promoting evidence-informed practices, and fostering institutional excellence through collaboration and innovation.

She joined the University Planning & Analytics team in October 2023. Cynthia holds a B.A. in Journalism from Langston University, an M.A. in Merchandising from the University of North Texas and a Ph.D. in Human Sciences from Oklahoma State University.

Quentae Wyse, MBA

Director of QEP Assessment

Quentae Wyse, MBA joined the Office of University Planning & Analytics in March 2024 and currently serves as the QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan) Director of Assessment. In this role, he leads and supports efforts related to Texas Southern’s QEP by collaborating with academic, academic support and administrative units to facilitate meaningful assessment practices that enhance operational efficiency and supports student learning and success outcomes. His work emphasizes the use of a collaborative and inclusive process of addressing university areas of improvement through data-informed strategies to drive continuous improvement and ensure alignment with accreditation standards and institutional priorities.

He also serves as the departmental coordinator of the student-centered Field of Study/Internship program offered in collaboration with the Social Work program of study.

Quentae is a proud graduate of Texas Southern University, where he earned a B.A. in Social Work and a Master of Business Administration.

Deonte' Richard, M.S.

Assistant Director of Systems Data and Reporting

Deonte’ Richard, M.S. rejoined the Office of University Planning & Analytics at Texas Southern University in March 2024. Previously, she served as Data Manager for 8+ years. Currently, she serves as the Assistant Director of Systems Data and Reporting, where she leads the completion of required state reports submitted to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB). Her responsibilities include working with data owners to ensure data integrity, monitoring business process changes to maintain alignment with reporting needs, compiling relational databases, and generating reports. 

She also works collaboratively with key areas, such as the Office of Information Technology (OIT) and the Division of Enrollment Services, to assist with data governance processes and to update existing reporting tools to coincide with State and/or Federal changes to reporting requirements. She serves as a part of a team to continually improve reporting efficiency. 

Deonte' is a proud Texas Southern University graduate, earning a B.B.A. in Business Management and an M.S. in Management Information Systems. She was also a proud internationally renowned Texas Southern University Debate Team member.

Aliesha Walkes, M.S.

Administrative Services Coordinator

Aliesha Walkes, M.S. joined the Office of University Planning & Analytics at Texas Southern University in February 2025. She serves as the Administrative Services Coordinator for the department and manages all aspects of the organizational and administrative functions within the area. Her responsibilities include supporting the department’s efficiency through administering best practices in planning and coordinating department-level responsibilities. This ranges from transactional responsibilities, such as budget tracking, travel coordination, procurement and reconciliation processes to other organizational responsibilities such as coordinating and scheduling training sessions offered by our department and managing the department’s shared calendar.

In addition, she supports the completion of special projects and Aliesha is thoroughly cross trained in various departmental areas and provides support, as needed, with maintaining website content, reviewing assessment plans, and completing general data requests.

Aliesha holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from The University of Alabama as well as an M.S. in Marketing with a specialization in digital marketing from Western Governors University.

Rashad A. Wright, B.S

Research Assistant

Rashad Wright joined the team in February 2025 and has completed various research activities in his role as Research Assistant in the department of University Planning & Analytics. In this capacity he supports departmental completion of annual State, Federal, and institutional reports. He leads the maintenance/monitoring of the department’s data request log, completes data requests and analyzes this information to recommend the creation of new dashboards. He also liaises with campus partners, as needed, to support training opportunities and data compilation from resources such as Argos (data reporting platform) and T-CLAW (Tigers Collaboratively Learning and Actively Working) Navigate student success platform. He also supports data integrity checks and completes data mining to meet reporting requirements.

Rashad graduated from University of Phoenix with a B.S. in Information Technology. He is also a medically retired U.S. Army Veteran with 15 years of honorable service. His dedication and bravery were recognized with the Bronze Star Medal, the fourth-highest combat decoration in the U.S. Armed Forces, awarded during consecutive deployments in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan.
