Student Regent at TSU: Representing Student Interests
The Student Regent serves as a dedicated representative of Texas Southern University, advocating for the interests of students, the university, and the State of Texas. Throughout their one-year term, the Student Regent may contribute to special commissions, task forces, and committees, engaging in key higher education initiatives. Participation in required Regent activities, including orientation sessions led by the Office of the Governor and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, ensures they are equipped to make a meaningful impact. The Student Regent also collaborates closely with student government, faculty, staff, and student organizations to enhance campus leadership and student representation.
