The TSI internship program offers a unique opportunity to learn from experts in the field, participate in community outreach, and develop essential skills that will benefit you along any professional path. Based on your needs and availability, there are many opportunities to consider, such as:
Peer Advocate/Ambassador
Peer Advocate Ambassadors are students or community members formally trained to become campus and community health advocates and ambassadors in supporting positive behavioral change among their peers. Upon completion of successful training, Peer Advocate Ambassadors are responsible for engaging in outreach activities, conducting surveys, and delivering publications and supplies. Peer Advocate Ambassadors generally serve in this role for up to 3 months at a time, averaging 25 hours a week, with the option to customize schedules. After completing a Peer Advocate Ambassadorship, they receive a formal letter of recommendation and certificate of completion documenting their service. To apply, click here.

The TSI Shapeshifter is one of the 130 registered organizations and clubs on campus, meeting the interests and needs of students committed to student health and wellness. Joining this organization allows students to engage with campus organizations, contribute to community service events, and influence campus culture. Student organizational members serve as officers, commit to at least 2 community service events each semester, and establish the direction for organizational influence throughout the academic year. If you are interested in joining, email tsushapeinitiative@tsu.edu with “Shapeshifter” in the subject line.
