Innovative Early Education in the Greater Third Ward
The Texas Southern University (TSU) Charter Lab School is dedicated to pioneering innovative teaching methods in small learning environments. Established in August 1995, the school initially served prekindergarten through grade 5 and transitioned into a charter school in 2006, now focusing on prekindergarten through grade 2.
Partnering with TSU’s College of Education, the school fosters academic excellence and student growth, with a committed staff including 4 teachers, 1 teaching assistant, 1 school clerk, and 1 campus principal.

The mission of the TSU Charter Lab School is to develop an accelerated learning environment that clearly charts a path of empowerment for its students to become tomorrow’s leaders through participation in a wide variety of educational experiences appropriate to their age, interest, and needs
Get Involved
TSU Charter Lab School PTO supports and enhances the educational experience by fundraising and organizing school and family events aimed at funding the purchase of enrichment tools used by all students. The PTO also promotes and encourages good communication and strong relationships among parents, teachers, administration and the community.
